I've been designing, one way or another, for three decades: as an architectural designer (winning a couple national design awards and garnering some publication credits), a business consultant (designing invoices and contracts and all sorts of dry but important communications), a business owner (strictly speaking not design, but since it was a design studio, there was plenty of that for clients) and finally as an independent creative director (designing just about anything you put a logo on). I literally wrote the book on PowerPoint for Goldman Sachs, colored comics for Marvel, founded a theatre company, edited a book about emerging trends in New York graphic design and have been a board member of an art gallery.
