I studied in Savannah, Georgia just as the preservation movement was gaining national attention and the city was at the cusp of a design renaissance and explosion in real estate values that continues to this day. This is a portfolio of images from a trip made just about halfway between that time and now, made with some amount of artifice at trying to capture the remnants of a sleepy town where you could spend a weekend afternoon with a camera and find yourself rather alone among the physical emblems of history visible with decay but likely just around the corner from robust renovation.
